Did you get a Cricut Easy Press for Christmas like I did? I hope so!! Now that I have this awesome tool I decided to find out the best places to buy heat transfer vinyl so I can start creating! As much as I love scrapbooking…I think I am going to become obsessed with HTV too!
The Best Places to Buy Heat Transfer Vinyl
When I began my search for heat transfer vinyl (HTV) I was surprised by how many online options are out there!
I don't have any craft stores in my town and I don't always want to drive 45 minutes to buy some. Ordering craft supplies online has become a standard for me due to convenience and a bigger selection.
Big Box Stores
I think we all know about the big box stores. The stores I am talking about are Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Joann.
These stores all carry a decent selection of regular vinyl and heat transfer vinyl (also called Iron-On Vinyl).
Hobby Lobby offers Cricut brand and Paper Studio vinyls. I have read a LOT of reviews about the Paper Studios HTV and it gets really bad reviews. It may be possible to save money on this brand of vinyl but I wouldn't suggest it. A lot of people ended up with ruined projects and the money for the vinyl was wasted.
Joann has very nice selection of Cricut Vinyl and HTV in the store and online. They also carry Silhouette brand vinyl but the selection in stores and online is very small. For example on line there are 351 items in the Cricut line and only 44 in the Silhouette line.
Michaels offers Cricut brand, Silhouette brand and Siser brand. The Siser brand is less expensive but gets good reviews for quality.
My Vinyl Direct
My Vinyl Direct offers a LOT. They have heat transfer vinyl, permanent vinyl, removable vinyl and so much more.
They offer heat press transfers which are designs ready to be put right onto a shirt or other medium. I LOVE these because I am not brave enough to do the more complex designs yet and these are very affordable and ready to go.
There are digital files for sale plus blank products you can buy for your creations. They have jersey shirts and SO MUCH MORE.
This site has everything you need if vinyl is your passion. They do sell Silhouette machines and products.
My Vinyl Direct is a one stop shop for vinyl. It is definitely on the list of the best places to buy heat transfer vinyl for a reason!
Swing Design
Swing Design offers Siser,Silhouette, Cricut and Oracal vinyls and heat transfer vinyl. There are some classes offered to become proficient in vinyl especially using a Silhouette.
They have a large selection of vinyls and many other tools and machines available.
Expressions Vinyl
Expressions Vinyl offers Siser brand vinyls and also has a large selection of their own brand of patterned vinyl and HTV. There are products by Silhouette and Oracal as well.
I love the section on machine settings. This broke it down very well especially for beginners.
Did I mention the fantastic color charts they have that break each brand down into a color chart by vinyl type? These are awesome!
They have a great selection of FREE videos to help you with basically any vinyl issue you could ever have! These are the kinds of videos I will be watching regularly!!
I also love their blog articles with so many fun ideas.
Consumer Crafts
Consumer Crafts is a website with ALL SORTS of crafting supplies. It is an online crafters paradise for sure.
They do offer Cricut and Siser vinyls and I love that they are part of Ebates so you can get an added percentage of your purchase back.
The website offers regular coupons so help bring prices down even lower. Right now they have a deal where you get $10 off every $40 you spend! Did I mention they have free shipping over $49! Free shipping is a big selling point for me.
Cricut
The Cricut website obviously has the biggest selection of their own vinyl and iron-on vinyl. The prices are on par with other retailers and I love the regular sales they offer.
Be sure to join their mailing list so you know when items go on sale! You won't find other brands…but you can buy the Cricut EasyPress here and all the awesome tools.
Happy Crafters
Happy Crafters is all about happy crafting and vinyl. They have TONS of different vinyl and HTV to choose from.
They have a huge selection of blank products you can buy to help with your creations. There are also SVG files for sale with cute designs.
Be sure to check the homepage for sales and sign up for the newsletter too.
